有趣的消息：微软收购了LookOut

在Joel on Software 上看到的最新消息，作者的语气很是戏谑。大概意思是，微软的OUTLOOK在搜索上做得很烂，本来想他们收购了LOokOut公司，大概是想加强一下。结果人家却宣称要把LookOut的搜索技术用到MSN上，并且停止了Lookout现有软件的支持和下载，因此作者说了一句话：Maybe just Hanlon's Razor: “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.”
后面又更新了消息，据说微软根本不关心可以集成到Outlook里的东西，收购可能是人事上想要挖某个人的做法而已，真FT~据说Lookout是做开源搜索的，很好奇。但是微软的Q+A里提到这样一段话，大概是表明了微软在桌面搜索方面的强大野心吧，摘录下来：
Our vision is to take search beyond today’s basic Internet search services to deliver direct answers to people’s questions, and help them find information from a broad range of sources.
